We understand that this is one of the biggest days in a couple’s life and some say the real start of a relationship. All of the couples friends and family are there to witness it and it is vital for us to film everything well. However, we are always careful not to be too obvious. We market ourselves on being discrete but there are times we need to be a little assertive to make sure we get good footage. Although we are London based, we shoot wedding videos throughout the UK and abroad. This summer we will be shooting wedding films in Turkey , South of France and Florence . If you want any information about our services abroad, please do not hesitate to get in touch. So many beautiful brides and glamours parties. Please have a look at our sample clips page to get an idea of our style, in case your thinking of have a wedding soon and want a video.

We have been directing clients to London in Motion, which give fantastic video summaries of places and sites in London if they are short of ideas.

We recently filmed a wedding video in the great Eastern Hotel near Liverpool Street , which was a fantastic London venue. The Hotel is in the middle of the City and has a very wide atrium which gives a fantastic sense of space and height. It was a Persian wedding with a beautiful Iranian ceremony. We film all of videos very discretely, without moving around too much during the ceremony. We understand the need for the bride and groom to be relaxed and last thing they will want is camera operators being too visible; please have a look at our how we work page to get an idea of our working style. However, this never compromises the quality of footage we get and in many ways can enhance it – as cameras are discretely mounted on tripods meaning steady and clear footage. Please have a look at some of the ceremony clips in Sample Clips to get an idea of how the final ceremony looks when shot this way. London wedding videos are always fun to make, as London has some of the best and most exciting venues. Syon Park near Brentford is another stunning venue that we frequently film wedding videos at. Syon Park is often used for feature films and it is no surprise given the grandeur and beauty of the place. The butterfly room gives the perfect setting for dinner – with great light and high ceilings. There is plenty of space to move around in and the atmosphere is always great. A wedding video is always enhanced by its setting and there are many stunning places (both in and outside London ) that we have been privileged to visit. It is very important to know that the wedding video company a couple selects is not going to dominate or put its own objective above the happiness of the bridge and groom. We always advise potential clients to look at How We Work to reassure them we are not going to get in the way on the day. We are very proud of the fact that we often not noticed yet the final wedding video has caught all the key moments.

It's a Great Summer

There is nothing better than a summer wedding in the sun. London wedding videos are particularly great to film in the Summer because the city is in bloom. Claridges is a wonderful venue and the bride and groom were a wonderful couple. There are quite a few clips of wedding videos we have shot in Claridges in our sample clips if anyone would like to see this venue. There are larger examples in our free DVD show reel too. I think wedding videos give huge scope for presenting a mixture of filming and editing styles. The day is always a combination of romance, family reunion, making new acquaintances and love. I have been filming wedding videos for over 18 years all over the UK and I always enjoy them. Having lived in London for over 20 years, I am particularly fond of filming in London. One can take one’s own city for granted but a wedding video always reminds me of what a wonderful city London is. Our clients are from many different cultures and backgrounds and their weddings reflect this diversity. I feel very privileged to have witnessed so many different cultures and wedding ceremonies and to have shared in those very intimate moments.

The previous weekend we had the pleasure of leaving London to a shoot a wedding video in the New Forest, Hampshire. Although we are a London based wedding video company, we travel al over the UK and it adds little to the cost of the day for the client. By the way, our prices are available to view on-line in the “prices” section of our website at www.movingimagefilms.co.uk. The wedding started at 3pm but we arrived sometime before that to catch preparations. A beautiful church in the heart of Winchester. The guests had travelled from all over the UK and the build up to the Wedding was fantastic. When creating a wedding video, the time of the guests arrival is one of the most exciting and important parts. A wedding video is a very lively and exciting film and the sight of all the guests, dressed in their finest outfits, full of anticipation and looking forward to showering the couple with love and affection, is one of the best sequences. People LOVE a wedding. The drama builds as the groom and his close family arrive. People take their seats before the Bride finally arrives looking beautiful. The church falls silent when word spreads that she has arrived. The priest goes out to greet her. Heads turn to catch the first glimpse.
All this drama makes a great wedding video and is one of the most exciting parts of the video. We carefully placed cameras, we caught all of the action and the sequence will look beautiful. For more information about how we work, please see "about us" and "how we work" on our website at http://www.movingimagefilms.co.uk.

Coming soon. Moving Image has shot over 10,000 clips of stock footage of London life and London landmarks for use in wedding videos. Moving Image shoots many wedding videos in London at all the major venues, including The Natural History Museum, Syon Park, Kew Gardens, Claridges, Grosvenor House, House of Parliament, Soho House and all other major venues. Many of these are available to view in sample clips. Please contact Moving Image for any more information.

Most of the weddings we film are based in London. However, we don’t just shoot London Wedding videos but travel all over the UK and Europe . Whatever the location, we always remember the purpose of the wedding film: it is a reminder of a wonderful day and of the friends and relatives who joined with you in the celebration. We always identify our approach with our clients. It is important to spend time getting prepared, pre-plan capturing key moments and getting good audio in the key moments. We also take many cutaways under all the conditions (you can never take too many cutaways). You can find out how we work in our How we Work and About Us section.

We remind our clients that in 10 years down the road you'll be more interested in the people who attended than in yourselves. Sure, you want to see how you looked and all those things, but "look, there's grandpa and aunt Flo" become treasured sights. And all those speeches are always included in full with good audio. These can be so lovely to revisit a few years later.

After the Church, we always try and capture lots of interactions between people -- parents being congratulated, friends chatting. This is a nice scene as it’s the first few moments of the couple of husband and wife and when the celebrations begin.

A great deal of our work is done in post (during the edit). We take our work very seriously – so this can take up to 8 weeks during the busy season. But, its an important memento and should not be rushed!

Looking forward and Looking Back

It has been a very busy period lately. Moving Image mainly films Wedding Videos in London but we have been to all parts of the Country during the build up to Christmas. It is true to say that most of clients do not want a noticeable video presence and we market ourselves largely on being discreet. Please take a look at our How we Work and About Us page to get an idea of how we operate. Given that much of our work is high profile or in the public eye, we are always happy to sign confidentiality agreements and copyright assignments if any of our clients have any concerns about privacy or their footage being used for promotional purposes. I have to say that 2008 was a great year. Without exception we had the privilege of working for some great clients who put on the most incredible day(s).

As we look forward to 2009 I came across this article about the history of Wedding videos taken from Wikipedia:
“Wedding videography its roots back to before the advent of the modern video camera through 8mm and 16mm films. Over the decades while film was the only way to capture moving pictures a few enterprising individuals would take out the family 8mm camera and film the weddings of friends and family. These film cameras were limited by their short load times for the film, high cost of processing and the fact the majority of them could not record sound to the film. But there were a few individuals who had turned the documentation of weddings into a business.
1980 saw the introduction of the first consumer camcorders by Sony, with other manufacturers soon following suit. With the introduction of these first camcorders wedding video documentation evolved from something for the rich or celebrity into something for the masses. Early adopters were primarily hobbyists who, at first started recording the weddings of friends and family, then went on to do jobs for pay.

The early days of professional wedding videography was primitive at best. The equipment was generally of low technical quality. Cameras required bright lights, had fuzzy pictures, poor color saturation and mono audio recorded with cheap microphones that didn't reproduce good audio quality. The cameras were bulky with the camera being a separate unit that connected to the video recorder via a cable. Many wedding videos weren't edited in post production and those that were, were primitively edited at best, usually just removing the mistakes. If titles were added you were lucky if they were legible. Generation loss (the copying of a copy, and so forth) was also a major problem with analog video tape. Each time you recorded the video to a new tape, it caused errors to build up and picture and sound to degrade.
From its earliest days and through the 1980s Wedding Videography had a negative reputation of being an interference on the festivities. The bright lights required to produce a quality image were damaging to the mood many brides and grooms wanted to have. As the market expanded, it was flooded by many individuals who had little experience and technical knowledge, which left the consumer with fallen expectations. And the consumer technology that was available to the wedding videographer could not match up with broadcast quality at the time.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s the state of the industry began to shift for the better. Videographers began to get orgainzed behind regional and national orgainzations. The manufacturers woke up to the fact that there was a market between the professional level and the consumer which became known as prosumer. With this realization the manufacturers began to listen to the wedding and event videographers and introduced products that specifically met the needs of this niche market.
Towards the mid 1990s, the manufacturers introduced the next evolution of cameras with digital cameras which removed the last of the technological barriers that had impeded wedding videography since its inception. The cameras were small, mobile, worked even better than the already good analog cameras on the market in low light situations and allowed the videographer to be discreet and not an intrusion on the events. These prosumer digital cameras have also been adopted by broadcasters and Hollywood. Many television shows and several movies have been made by the likes of Spike Lee, using these cameras. (Sony VX1000, Canon XL1, among others.)

Post production took a major leap forward with the introduction of advanced tools like the Newtek Video Toaster in the early 1990s. The introduction of the lost cost Video Toaster lead a few years later to the introduction of several relatively inexpensive non-linear editors (NLE, computer-based editing. The next revolution in post production was the introduction of the burnable DVD in the '90s which removed most of the problems caused by copying multiple generations of the same video image. Videos were now able to be recorded digitally, edited digitally and delivered digitally. The resulting product when properly done could look as good as the most expensive Hollywood productions.

As the 1990s ended Wedding Videography had exploded beyond being just the documentation of weddings. The majority of Wedding Videographers prefer to add the additional term of Event to their description of services, so it is now Wedding and Event Videography. New offerings like Love Stories, Photo Montages, music videos, family biographies and such appeared. Anniversaries, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, graduations, etc were also being documented in large numbers on video. The skill levels of the industry had progressed, post production took on the skill and quality of Hollywood movies and television shows. The consumer began to have options as to what they wanted in a video, as post production techniques evolved the long form videos which could run 2 to 3 even 4 hours in length, saw a new highly edited and polished form appear called the short form video which ran as little as 10 minutes but on average 30 to 40 minutes.”

Anyway, I’d like to wish all our clients a happy 2009.

There are many different ways to cover a wedding, from a simple one-camera operation to an elaborate multi-camera production. It's important to make the right decision on how to approach the video. Experience has taught us what to use when, especially when not to over do it. Moving Image has been filming Wedding Videos in London and all over the UK for over 15 years and we are well adverse in using the highest quality equipment a coping with all any constraints including budget and logistical considerations. Please see some of work on our sample clips page.
Naturally, the editing is what takes the bulk of the time – it can take well over \a week of meticulous editing to get the film the way we like it.
If you want complete coverage, you will find it difficult with one camera. Moving Image always films with at least 2 cameras and usually uses 3. Things often happen in more than one place at the same time, or you will want shots of different people who are far apart. For example, the bridal procession looks nice interspersed with shots of the groom and congregation watching. This is all but impossible to achieve smoothly with one camera.
All of operators are well trained in using more than two cameras — one of them manned and the others locked off on a wide or other suitable shot. The next improvement would be to have both cameras manned. After that, you could add a third unmanned camera. Three cameras should be ample for most weddings. This can add to cost but you are less likely to miss anything. Check out how we work on our "How we Work" page
First of all, it's a very good idea to have more than one microphone and recorder. Moving Image often use three microphones to record sound. Audio is as important as the video and it will be a disaster if your only audio track is ruined by unexpected hum, interference, wind noise, etc. We make sure this never happens.
Generally speaking we do not have much control over the lighting and this can make a difference. For example, if the ceremony is to be held in front of a giant window we will need to find a suitable position which doesn't have a blown-out (over-exposed) background.

Summer of Love

It has been a very busy summer with a fantastic selection of wedding videos in London and around the country and in Europe. If any potential clients wish to see any examples of our work please take a look at some of our clips on our sample clips page. We aim to provide a service tailored to what our clients want. You can check out how we work on our “How we Work” page. Generally speak we are a London based Wedding Video production company that have shot wedding video in all of the big London hotels, churches and other venues. These include Syon Park, Richmond House, St Paul’s cathedral, The Writer’s Guild Club, the Cinnamon Club, Ham Polo Club, St Pauls Knightsbridge, Farm Street Church, Chelsea Church Sydney Street, Claridges Hotel, The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, The Berkeley, Grosvenor House, The Great Easter Hotel, The Hempel, Soho Hotel, Soho House to name just a few. However that does not mean we do not travel outside the capital. To the contrary, this summer we shot almost half of our wedding videos outside London. We also undertake a wide range of work. This year we have shot civil partnerships, Hindi weddings, Persian weddings, Italian, Danish, Jewish and many others. It is such a fantastic treat to see all of these cultures and the way they celebrate the coming together of two people. Such colour, music and always joy. We never tire of it. It is fair to say that we are a fly on the wall company. The bulk of our clients do not really want to see a huge presence of wedding videographers at their wedding. They have enough on their plate and do not want the added pressure of too many cameras in their face. We understand that and shoot very discretely. For the more private shoots we also have a selection of confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements together with copyright assignments should these be required by the client (or the magazine – if subject to a sponsored shoot).

In London churches and venues tend to be a little larger and the placing of discrete (often unmanned) cameras is quite easy. In small country churches it is not so easy but we always manage it. We film from the rear of the church – so the couple are not distracted by camera operators in their view.

IN FULL FLOW

It has been an exceptionally busy summer this year with a number of wedding videos being shot abroad, in London and the home counties. London wedding videos are always great fun to film. You get the glamour of the city and vibrancy of the wedding. To view some sample clips from weddings in London please see our sample clips page. This summer we have shot films in Turkey , South of France and Florence . If you want any information about our services abroad, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

LONDON WEDDING VIDEOS

Moving Image recently filmed a wedding video in the great Eastern Hotel near Liverpool Street , which was a fantastic London venue.

The Mandarin Oriental

This weekend we were filming a wedding video in The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge, London. London Wedding Videos are always very glamorous affairs and this was no exception. The Mandarin is a wonderful venue and the bride and groom were a wonderful couple. There are quite a few clips of wedding videos we have shot in The Mandarin in our sample clips if anyone would like to see this venue.

The previous weekend we had the pleasure of leaving London to a shoot a wedding video near Peterborough. A beautiful church in the heart of Kimbolton.

The Mandarin

This weekend we were filming a wedding video in The Mandarin Oriental hotel in Knightsbridge London. London Wedding Videos are always very glamorous affairs and this was no exception. The first was a beautiful Jewish wedding at the New London Synagogue Central London followed by a stunning reception in Savile Row. A good wedding video is ultimately a reflection of a beautiful wedding and this was no exception. A vibrant crowd combines with a lovely warm couple always makes a great day. Jewish weddings are always full of lovely rituals and fabulous parties. To see some examples please see our sample clips. There are larger examples in our free DVD show reel too. When making the wedding video, you pay close attention to the close family as there will much laughter, tears and warm throws of affection and good wishes. As the wedding was in central London we added some classic footage of London places and events to give it that London flavour. The couple also requested some Amy Winehouse to round off the London theme. In all a classic London Wedding Video. The couple were delighted with the final product, as were we.

The second wedding video we shot in March was also Central London at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, Hyde Park. An Indian wedding that was rich in colour and life. I feel so privileged to witness these wonderful ceremonies and to be part of it. The proceedings started by the groom being shepparded in by family dancing to vibrant drum players. Each member of the family then exchanged garlands with their opposite number and warmly embraced. So, even before the main ceremony, the wedding video had dancing, music, hugging and great love. The main wedding ceremony then started and her proud family led the stunning bride into the main room before being seated with the groom. What followed was a ceremony rich in rites and rituals. The wedding finished at midnight and editing on the video finished about 4 weeks later. Please contact Moving Image for any more information.

Wedding Videos in London

This weekend we were filming a wedding video in Claridges hotel London. London Wedding Videos are always very glamorous affairs and this was no exception. We specialise in filming weddings with minimum interference. Experience has taught us that people do not want an over-emotional cheesy wedding video but something elegant, well shot and simple that reflects their day, which they can watch time and again. We aim to capture and present the day as it unfolds and edit sequentially. Please review some of the sample clips to get an idea of our style. If you like what you see, request a free show reel that demonstrates in more detail how we shoot and structure our films.

Learn how we work in about us. We shoot all of our films on professional broadcast equipment and use state of the art edit equipment to bring the footage together.

We shoot the whole day up to the first dance and longer if requested. The average full length video is about 90 minutes but this varies depending on what the client wants.

For more details, please visit our site http://www.movingimagefilms.co.uk/
